Transition to a circular economy
Research into the transition towards sustainable development is already widely known. International scientific reports increasingly point to the societal challenges that a globalised world - and likewise production and consumption patterns - entails. These challenges lead to the requirement to establish in a systematic, cohesive and persistent way a circular economy in a pan-European framework. Its complexity should not be underestimated. The Global South - in all its diversity - will also experience the consequences hereof. The Institute has made the transition to a circular economy within the context of sustainable development one of its most important lines of research.
The research projects are indicated by TRANS (= transition) and/or CE (= circular economy).
